Therapy for Moms in the seasons of postpartum, pregnancy & Beyond

Embrace the enduring hope of motherhood.

Something has you feeling stuck.

Motherhood doesn’t mean giving up on joy- it has the potential to be filled with happiness and growth.

Does it feel like since you became a mom, something is off, like you have lost a part of yourself that you can’t seem to get back? Well Mama, know this. You are NOT alone.

In this moment, you might not recognize the version of yourself that you once knew. Motherhood brings a cascade of changes, often catching us off guard. But here's the reassuring truth: healing can be found even in the midst of the overwhelming mental load that moms often carry. In therapy, you'll be able to rediscover yourself, and in doing so, you'll embrace the newfound beauty and resilience that motherhood gives you. Many of the challenges that moms face include:

  • Postpartum depression/anxiety

  • Infertility

  • Birth trauma

  • Dealing with guilt/shame

  • Defining oneself and understanding your new identity as a mother

  • Navigating relationships

  • Grief/trauma related to pregnancy and infant loss

Hi, I’m Megan.

I’m here to help you resolve emotional distress related to common mental health challenges brought on by motherhood.

Pregnancy and postpartum are both a unique and sacred time in your life. There is no other time in the human experience in which you will grow and carry life in your body, give birth, and raise/nurture your baby all while physically recovering from birth.

If you are feeling conflicted because you are suffering in postpartum or motherhood, I want you to know that you are valid in your feelings. Motherhood is a wild ride, and it can be incredibly hard!

When I became a mom, I experienced debilitating anxiety. I had no idea what was happening and wondered why I could not reason my way through sleep deprivation and the adjustment to motherhood. I know personally how important help is during this season. That is why I created my practice - to help women find hope and joy again in motherhood.

Through the therapeutic process, I will always hold space for you to experience your emotions, sort through your thoughts and process trauma, identify ways to cope with new challenges, discover your identity as a mom, and integrate ways in which to care for yourself. You will feel confident to move forward as a mom, and as a result, feel empowered by your strength.

Specializing in helping moms break free from emotional distress and rediscover their identity.

  • Are you a mom trying to navigate motherhood? Have you recently welcomed a new baby, only to find yourself in a haze of sleep deprivation, feeling lost and confused? Perhaps you're grappling with frustration or guilt because, despite your deep desire for this baby, you're overwhelmed with unexpected emotions. Or maybe you're navigating the complex territory of pregnancy loss or grief, and the joy you anticipated feels difficult to find. Mama, please know that you are not alone.

The journey of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood is profoundly meaningful, but may come with challenges such as anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. These experiences can be incredibly tough, causing significant pain in our lives. It can leave you feeling isolated from others including the ones you love the most. Please know that you're simply navigating monumental changes, and it's okay to struggle.

To effectively address these challenges, I will draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to meet your unique needs. In addition to traditional talk therapy, we may utilize evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, Interpersonal Therapy to explore and improve interpersonal relationships, and mindfulness practices to cultivate present moment awareness and reduce stress.

By integrating these approaches, I aim to facilitate meaningful insights, cultivate coping strategies, and foster resilience as you navigate the complexities of motherhood.

  • Trauma is a common and universal experience, often stemming from events beyond your control. It's completely understandable if the thought of facing past experiences feels daunting. However, in therapy, you're not alone in this journey of healing.

Together, we'll create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore and process your trauma. Exploring painful memories can be intimidating, which is why our sessions will be guided by compassion, patience, and understanding. We'll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you, ensuring that you feel supported every step of the way.

Through evidence-based techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) or narrative/exposure therapy, we'll tailor our approach to suit your unique needs and preferences. These therapeutic modalities are designed to help individuals navigate the emotional complexities, memories, and triggers associated with their trauma. Whether it's processing distressing memories, learning coping skills, or exploring ways to manage triggers, we'll work together to address your needs and promote healing.

Our ultimate goal is to facilitate healing, alleviate distressing symptoms, and empower you to reclaim your sense of security and well-being. You're deserving of a life free from the burdens of your past, and I'm here to guide you every step of the way.
